Guardian Hearts  

A somewhat fastpaced short series with good humor. Quite enjoyable. Not the best thing on the planet, but absolutely not a waste of your time and bandwidth

Oh, and a small note on getting this thing to play properly (took me over an hour to figure it out T__T)
The first 2 files will play fine for most of you, but the 3rd file seems to be somewhat messed up. The only thing I know of that will get this file to work properly is to install the latest release of FFDShow (google for it). any older versions of ffdshow will play the file with a huge amount of artifacts. I personally use the 2003-08-16 version of FFDShow and it works fine

i notice the first episode is less clear(sharp) than the 2nd and 3rd episode. Is there something wrong with my codecs??. The file size seems to be about the same size...

Nice anime for all those short love story lovers...ends at a somewhat hanging note T_T

its ok but the nude shots were a bit poorly done

 Wow, this was truly wretched.  

Even for harem/magical girl series, its far too contrived and the storyline is a clunky yawner.  The girl designs are bland, half the characters aren't introduced or the intro is 'here's so & so and this is her quirk'.  One feels no attachment to or empathy with the guy, the main girl is shallow & obnoxious, the mother is improbable twit and the other girls are so clueless that they can't even tell *gasp* Guardian Hearts alter-ego.  

The only character I started to care for was poor Maya, the Ninja girl.  Maybe it would have been a better series if Hina had been the 'helpful little sister', one of the other girls was the lead and the other two were antagonists.

I don't expect much from a T&A farm, but this was worse than Maburaho and that's saying something.  

So go watch something that attempts to have a storyline and less catty women.  If you want magical school girls, watch Wedding Peach, Magic User's Club or Akahori Gedou Hour Lovage.  You want better harem, try Da Capo, Clannad, or even Sumomomo.

Is there something wrong here or?
I know this is old but.....
I see only Episode 1 and 3, where's the one in the middle?
And my understanding of english might be bad at times but is it 2x15min in each episode?

File 1 = Episodes 1&2
File 2 = Episodes 3&4
File 3 = Episodes 5&6

Each file is ~30mins and 2 episodes to a file (15 mins per episode)

Yes i get it that there should be 3 files with 2 episodes in each.
But as i  said, the torrent given to me here made me download file 1 and file 3, there were no file 2, aka i have only 4 of 6 episodes then?

Edit :  i rechecked the torrent by trying to redownload the serie again but still i only see file 1 and file 3 there.

Edit : But then it's all sorted out and it seems it was myself who was at fault here, not sure why i mixed those two up, At least now i got to get the first down as well and everything is fine

Good thing

If you've seen a lot of harem/ecchi shows, you'll feel like you've seen Guardian Hearts before, even when watching it for the first time. So don't watch it unless you want to see something absolutely silly, predictable, and cliched with no redeemable story or character development. But for what it is, I enjoyed it. I recommend alcohol to enhance the experience  

Btw, if anybody comes across raws or 100% softsubbed non-English fansubs of this, let me know. The only thing I found truly wretched about this torrent was Miyuki-Fansubs' subtitles. They're plagued by random/inconsistent/unreadable styling, over-literal/undertranslated editing, unnecessary notes, and a slew of other problems. I'd love to fix them up and re-release them, but I can't exactly do that without a raw source.

I also would like to see this in a better quality, only Anime no Sekai(ANSK=Portuguese[27.12.2006]) did it in MKV, so did Darklanmaster(German[15.06.2009]), no clue if those are fully soft subbed though or if they are available. RAWs might be hard to find as it was not so popular, hopefully someone does find them and re-encode plus TL them better. I did enjoy this one for the humor and ecchiness, just to slow me back down from all of the action and blood packed series.
