This anime has some awesome fight scenes. I like the concept of a former gymnastic star turning to street fighting. I think the Kenichi is a better martial arts anime; however, this one is good too. It has a nice balance of action and comedy, so if you like comedies more than action, you may still enjoy it.

Fun and enjoyable anime.  :thumbsup:

i have the first 12 episodes in english unfortunately geneon entertainment shut down and no other distributor took up the slack to dub it in english.good fighting sequences but the artform drawing make it deliberately old school anime style from 80's p.s anyone notice that little girl groupie with the annoying voice looks like astroboy?

Lovely action that keeps you on the edge of your seat almost every episode. This is a must for fighting/action fans.

I ordinarily don't leave comments at all but I really want to with this show. I enjoyed all of it up until the last episode, why? The last episode is one of the most ridiculous, nonsensical things I have ever watched. It does NOT follow any of the plot of the rest of the series. It makes absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever let alone within the context of the rest of the show. Things were building up nicely in the story and then all of the sudden at the end they unload this giant turd on you with not so much as even an explanation. I am furious! I spent two days watching this series and I am rewarded with such a poor ending that I almost regret watching ANY of it. I can only compare this to the stupidity of the Neon Genesis Evangelion ending. What absolute garbage. Episode 27 is a perfect way to ruin a series. I am very glad that I didn't pay for the actual DVD. Unforgivable...

* minor spoilers *

For some reason I really like this anime. Yes, the animation is pretty simplistic and old fashion (the original manga was horribly drawn) and I guess the story is really weird at times but the true strength of this series lies with the main character and some very funny and goofy sidekicks and quirky villains. Aikawa Maki comes across as a really interesting character with a unique fighting style and a checkered background. It's also refreshing to see a female lead character that isn't some kind of overly cute, über-sexy lolita in super skimpy clothing. Maki comes across as a very plain looking, simplistic, slightly dumb but at the same time warm and compassionate. And although there are panties and upskirt shots aplenty it's more comical and too detached to be pure fan service.

And yes, the last episode is really strange, but I kind like it that way as it lets me as viewer interpret it's meaning rather than be given a fitting explanation on a silver platter. I think that the final fight is about Maki finally confronting and accepting the truth about the death of her mother, but that's just my personal opinion.

Anyhow, well worth watching.

This show is great. The action is awesome and the main character is really quite engaging. If I had any editing talent I would remove any scene with two of the secondary, characters, renge and Mina, because they detract from the show(and manga) so much... If you can get past them this is a great series, If you can't stand them then it's better to leave this one as it is.

This anime has some of the best fight scenes of any.  The characters are also pretty engaging where they are not annoying . . .  In particular the main character's "rival" is interesting.  I remember when this show was being subbed originally and it kept being dropped by various groups and picked up by others who did a speed jobs.  I think I will enjoy watching it again with quality subs.

Well he is not 100% right, but i d say he is 99% at least! Someone must had said : " Ok guys we are out of budget we need to finish the series this week think of something fast" ! God damn! In general this show had a lot more potential and its not just the last episode they should had put a bit more efford in general and it would have been a great anime. Still i dont regret watching it

Well, I'm at the third ep and I don't think I can continue... does it get any better than this or is it just same same?

I did enjoy the opening theme but that's not enough to hold my attention.

This anime is a guilty pleasure of mine. If you can ignore that annoying midget you'll have a good time.
Loved that stab at Virtua Fighter nerds. :D
