Gun Frontier has nothing to do with any of the previous series other than the generation's of Harlock and his samurai companion. If you have seen Arcadia of my Youth you will find out that they carry a special bond that flows through generation and generation of their ancestors. Though this pact of friendship was vowed during World War 2 with a fighter pilot Harlock and peasent farmer Toshiro, Gun Frontier sort of states that it started beyond that point. Also Gun Frontier may have been Matsumoto's first manga, Captain Harlock was a character that he had created when he was in Highschool so this was not his first idea of what Harlock would be. Also the captain Harlock that we know of from the 2 ova's, series, movies, and various appearence's on many of Matsumoto's shows, his name is not Frank, but Phantom F. Harlock. Also just to let it be known, Toshiro is basically the animated personallity of Matsumoto, he identifies with the character the most, and thats most likely the reason behind why Harlock and Toshiro are the best of friends in what ever story you read or watch.

I can't see the problem. Current and previous seeders have to download the torrent file again anyway after a swap and so have the opportunity to point their torrent client to the folder in which they have stored the files, in fact, they have to do that in order to recheck the files. And I know a lot of people change the folder names of downloaded torrents anyway to suit their own archiving preferences (myself included)...

I saw this on the shelf in a video store about 10 years ago and somehow it has constantly slipped through my fingers, I'm finally gonna get to enjoy one of Matsumoto's works that isn't in his usual vein(which I love, don't get me wrong)

wow..... which came first, Cosmo Warrior Zero or this, because they both look like the exact same characters, Cosmo Warrior Zero is set way in the future but even has a wild west planet on which you meet many of the same characters....

This was really fun, something different from the usual space opera from Leiji Matsumoto, but the ending didn't resolve anything, I will have to look for the manga.
