One of the best shows I ever watched. Subtitles could be better, sometimes they go too fast, and Japanese should've been the 1st audio, its superior to the dubbed, I mean Onizuka sounds way funnier.

Strong urge to resubmit as H.264 encode rising.
Too bad there are no such encodes available, aside from an unobtainable Anime-Ancestors release that apparently has major amounts of OCR fail.

Great series, but since there are so many comments that I didn't want to read all the way through. I'll just post.
This is direct from DVD, the subs however were changed in color and font to look nicer (yellow bad font -> white, smooth font), I did not see any translation changes.  I don't watch dubbed, the VA for onizuka is horrendous in my opinion.  The video quality looks the exact same as the DVD, I played the first episode together and noticed no differences.

Size with eng audio removed is 9.59 Gb
Congratulations on saving 60% of one CD-R, I guess? And the subs weren't changed in color, they were converted from picture subs to text subs. In theory they could be rendered as yellow, if you want them to be.

I barely watch anime anymore, but i can't keep away from GTO, such a great series!

As a matter of fact for me, the best anime ever.

Just finished watching it and I am very impressed. I am not even a fan of Slice of Life/Comedy anime, but this show is on my list of all time favorites. I usually watch 1-2 episodes of a show per day, but with GTO I sat to watch those 1-2 episodes and only at 2am realized that I watched 6-8 episodes in a row. Great soundtrack, great animation, and I am telling it as a guy who got spoiled by fancy animation of recent years. Must watch for everyone. Also, which is very remarkable, it keeps the perfect balance of silliness and serious matters. I find it to be very rare, because most of the shows either go full-on dark/grim mode or over the top comedy with no substance behind it

EDIT: I wrote the rest without actually finishing the series (I had 2 episodes left). Now that I finished it, I can say that the ending is the most disappointing thing about the whole show. It is rushed, it has giant plot holes, it does not make any logical sense, and it takes a lot of character development and just dumps it into nowhere without even giving a proper explanation. If you heard about Mass Effect 3 ending controversy, you will quickly understand what I am talking about, even though it is not on such a gigantic scale of failure as Mass Effect. Welp, I am going to go to read the manga since, I heard, it has much more story afterwards (anime ends on Vol 13/25, about halfway through the manga story), the ending from anime does not exist in manga at all, and the real ending from manga (which is canon) is much more satisfying than the one in anime. I still like GTO anime a lot, but the anime ending was like a punch in the face

Its in English and Japanese. Onizuka sounds funnier in Japanese, but imho, the subtitles are not so great.

By the way, those are both .pngs, not .jpegs.

The disgrace in that example is due to poor DVD transferring, which may possibly be the case here.
I found this screenshot of the US release of GTO: http://i.imgur.com/e15MH0i.png
Quite visible is that same type of infamous "rainbow tint". The stains of green and pink are most visible at the outlines in the animation, and in light areas, such as on that voluptuous, cream-colored skin, but really it's in the whole image overall.
This type of artifacting is found in many transfers of analogue media to DVD, especially older media.

The reason why this release looks different to you, isn't certain, I don't know how this was made.
But it could be due to filtering. Many filters can smartly remove artifacts, even from a bad transfer or recording.
It is perfectly possible that filters were used to clean-up the look of the DVDs. Many encoders will do this if the source is not looking so good to their eye.
However, this release could look different because of a different source. It could have been encoded from the original Japanese DVD's, if there's any available, and considering this popular show, there probably are.

So........now you may feel informed, but disheartened, that your bought product doesn't seem to hold up to this.
Well, there is a final option. The "jagginess" you're seeing could also depend on what you're playing your DVDs with.
If possible, try to view them on a TV in the same room vs. your PC, and pay attention to how it looks.

I've noticed over time that DVDs actually look better in Windows Media Player to me, it seems to be from the way it deinterlaces DVD material. In Media Player Classic + CCCP, every deinterlacing option I've tried in the included MPEG-2 decoder looks inferior to playback in WMP.

This is all I can suggest you for now, but I hope it helps.

I tested other DVD;s too and they also look far wars on my pc than on a tv screen i mean so bad that its unwatchable
i think my settings are not good for dvds or i need a program that can smooth out the lines on the dvd
