It's a fun little series but what really caught me off guard was the more serious direction it took in the second half and this is represented with the second OP which is amazing by YUKA, even if you never plan on giving this series a watch at least check out OP2 of this series.

No, it's not a silly series. On the contrary. The plot here is carefully thought out and characters act logically and realistically. BEsides SPT Layzner there is no other as good post-apocalyptic anime as this one (and Desert Punk is better of the two). It reminds me of Firefly.

this was an AWESOME series. imho, despite my hatred of english voice overs in anime, i liked the eng version better. it's the one i have on my HD. i found the Japanese version on a blacklisted site and the eng version is funnier. the script isn't exact. if you want the torrent for both versions simply google "desert punk torrent" the first two listings are what you want. i just added them to utorrent and the english dub version is going WAY faster then the Japanese+subs one. already at 8% in just a few minutes at 12 mb net speed.
