i have downloaded four thora 1080p releases (these three SAC movies, and freedom) and the audio is constantly stuttering and frames are dropped in order to catch up.  i don't notice this with other 1080p videos.  i use mplayer.  since mplayer has infinite runtime options, can anyone suggest some that might help the playback?

i have gotten a significant improvement by using the -ni and -nocache options... but there are still some scenes that seem to cause trouble.  is an amd 9950 and ati hd4850 not enough?

I'm getting some audio stutter at: 1:12:58, 1:31:18, and 1:31:45. After the section passes, the video speeds up to get back in sync with the audio.

I'm using the latest CCCP with an October 3rd build of FFDShow set on two cores. In those regions, the processor only reaches ~80%.

same here...getting an audio stutter at those points as well...wondering how to fix that

EDIT: for those of you who are having stuttering problem get CoreAVC and then follow these instructions to have it work with CCCP

"Important Note: CoreAVC is not free. It's a commercial program and you have to buy it to use it. There are no free versions available (even the alpha that some people say is free), although a free 14-day trial is available. If you want to use CoreAVC, you will have to buy it from CoreCodec. (it's 10 dollars btw)

How to use CoreAVC instead of FFDShow

   * Install CoreAVC. In the installer options, uncheck "Haali Media Splitter".
   * Disable FFDShow's H.264 decoding by going to the CCCP settings manager (Start -> Programs -> Combined Community Codec Pack -> Settings) and unchecking H.264, and then pressing Next and then Apply. If you are using a separate FFDShow install, you need to go to its video decoder settings, click the Codecs entry in the list to the left, find the H.264 entry in the grid, and change it from "libavcodec" to "disabled".

CoreAVC will now get used instead of FFDShow for H.264 decoding, provided that no other filter on your system interferes. "

The level of details is mostly identical to THORA's 720p version. It seems that the latter only contains some more color banding.

Original 720p: Image 2

Comparison:
Image 2: 720p rescaled to 1080p | 1080p

I'me having the same problem (it seems to drop frames in scenes with computer animated graphics which causes the audio to skip) when playing this in my WD TV Live player. However when I do it on my PC (with CoreAVC + MPC-HC) the file plays just fine.
In WD TV Live forum it was sugested that this problem may be related to changes in the framerate for some scenes (in the original, which may cause problems when encoding).

Also MediaInfo shows the enconder settings as a bunch of zeros... may or may not be related.
