ef - a tale of melodies. [Menclave]  

Delicious Delicious Melodrama...Though a bit ridiculous with its visual metaphors, more so than the first.

Blu-ray dics for ef are only released once a month in japan, at the end of the month; Dics 3 (eps 5&6) just got released 2/27/09 and Disc 4 (eps 8&9) gets released 3/27/09. Grps seem to take bout a week to throw Menclave's subs on em. So HD releases wont be done till June. I personally was gonna wait get all blue-ray releases but after seeing that only one disc get released a month (with only 2 eps per :'-( ) I'll watch Menclave's releases after eps 5&6 get released in HD.

imo it's better to wait.  The TV raws were really shitty for this series that it's absurd...especially with all the flashes and "blurry" scenes in the later eps, of which the TV raws made it look like chicken scratches.  Yes it's a pain to wait unfortunately.  I plan on rewatching the whole series after Thora releases them.  Speaking of which, I suggest a torrent swap once Thora finishes in the summer (hopefully)

Okey... First I'd like to ask; why did you have to ul a mkv version?? AVI is running so much smoother...

But on the other hand, it was a good anime. Not quite as good as A tale of memories, but still worth my time. Though, because of some disturbance (because it's MKV!! ) while viewing it on my computer it was quite difficult not to get mad and unfocused.

Its possibly the most dramatically epic, on an artistic point of view, anime i have ever seen in my entire life. It also connects very well to the first series and even delivers a much better one.

someone should really resub this hopefully menclave, cuz i've seen sone very nice and crisp raws, the only thing crisp in this is the subs.

I was about to start watching the first season, but if this 2nd season is a direct continuation, I'd rather wait a few months till THORA's HD versions are done and watch them both together. Is this season is a direct follow up to the first one, or are they not connected?

EDIT:   FYI- I didn't read the description in case it WAS a follow up and gave anything away.  Just so someone doesn't think I'm a dolt for not reading it.  

Comparisons of the quality of this release to VHS-rips are pure overdramatics. True, it's a little worse than average for current SD releases, but it looks better than XviD stuff from 2003, and considerably better than DivX3 stuff from 2001.

Hope the HD version comes out soon. Some of the blu ray releases are out and damn, they look awesome

True, BD releases are awesome. I'm wondering why the heck only 2 eps per BD... How much does a BD with anime cost (average)?

I wonder what's the limit for definition... Checked some old divx 3.11/divx 4/old xvid stuff I still have and.... You just can't compare. And now I have issues watching older encodes lol.. And u don't find them in better definition hahaha. Unless they start remastering old stuff, which would be awesome in some cases.
