The font is seriously eye cancer, but the grammar/English of the other version looks like just pure cancer from the screenshots  :-/

Bummer, I am really inclined to get this release, but is there a reason why a v2 is not swaped?

The fix seems easy from what I read and even if it wasn't I can't think of an excuse to let a "broken" episode sit on such a nice batch :(

Well, thanks anyway for this, but I would be happier to see it 100% ^^

Same. Everything looks great except for the borked up OP/ED on episode eight.

Any chance of a patch or something like that?

A friend told me I'd love this anime; he was completely right. I LOVE IT SO HARD.
Thanks, uploader!

Assuming that a v2 won't be released, how would one go about fixing the playback error in episode 8? Demux the audio, convert it, and then remux it back into the .mkv?

You just skip to the actual episode :P

As for the v2s - don't count on them, I deleted the original DVD ISOs and IIRC just remuxing the files didn't help - my guess would be that this is some sort of corner case of Vorbis + ordered chapters (apparently, Vorbis and ordered chapters don't go together, though up till now I never had any issues). Thankfully, it's not a serious problem, IMHO, especially since people usually skip over the OP anyway :P

If the problem is only in the absence of the original DVD ISOs, I can provide them (or demuxed audio from them).

i love this anime, lots of emotions, love, great story too.

if you use vlc, start with '--no-mkv-use-ordered-chapters' this way you lose 3 minutes, the opening and the ending, but not to worry, they are included separately!
i love the chaptering, it makes skipping easy, i wish everyoneone would upload anime like that!!!
with vlc i could see it all-in-one, i didn't have to move a finger to skip, search for the point after the intro and the ending.

I saw how everyone was having problems with episode 08 and decided to do something about it. Just as I figured it was a Muxing problem. Perhaps the MKV file didn't take the chapter file correctly or something like that. I re-muxed using a new chapter file, and now it works perfectly. This is unofficial though, I'll be sending Igro a pm to let him know. In the meantime here is the patch:

[Rabbit-Force]_Scrapped_Princess_-_08v2(unofficial fix)_[DVD_H264_Vorbis][578AE305].zip

There is no need to change settings and stuff. When Ordered chapters are being used to include the ED and OP (like in this case) all you have to do is put the ED and OP in a different folder. As of now this is how my files look like:

[PARENT FOLDER]
  -[FOLDER]
      -ED
      -OP
  -[/FOLDER]
  -Episode 01
  -Episode 02
  -...
[/PARENT FOLDER]

Since the OP and ED are not in the same folder they will be skipped. Giving you the same result. If you want the OP and ED to be part of the Episodes again, just place them in the same folder.

NOTE: I use CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack). This works better than VLC player. If you have it already, and have problems a re-installation always works wonders.

There's only one screenshot to look at but how exactly is the font '' eye killing '' as someone claimed ? Looks pretty decent to me, compared to those eye-cancer yellow subs in most older dvd rips.

Thanks to the uploader though, going to download this since I couldn't find anything better.

It's the capital E and F that really annoy me.  Other than that the font is really good.  For those that want to change it and are using the haali media splitter (i have CCCP codec with Core AVC 2.5.5), go to the haali settings -> option tab -> input -> load embedded fonts -> change value to "no."  i tried the ask me value and it doesn't work and is apparently a problem with windows?

First off, I would like to say, I enjoyed this anime quite a bit! Definitely up my alley of interests. [:

Okay, second, I didn't encounter any problems with anything...the whole anime played quite nicely.
ONLY problem I have to point out is the drastic grammatical change the subtitles took during the last 5 or so episodes. It wasn't BAD, but wasn't great either. Not bad enough to continuously gripe about, so that's a plus.

Otherwise, everything was enjoyable. Thank you~

How's this a slot B = 720p?

The number 720 for the horizontal res does not a 720p make!

Good catch, but I can't change this - only a moderator is able to do so (don't know how it ended up as B in the first place).

Anybody else having problems with episode 8?  Whenever I start it, it doesn't play (stays at 00:00).  When I skip ahead a few seconds it plays without sound.  When I skip ahead after the intro, it plays fine.  Maybe I need to update CCCP...

Eh, this is what I get for including the ordered chapters at the end - it seems you are right, in ep 8 the OP is fcked up, don't know why though, the ordered chapters feature isn't exactly "stable" imho (but nevertheless, it's usable and cool ;)) - maybe it's because I used Vorbis for audio? I heard somewhere that Vorbis and ordered chapters don't go well together (but they seem to work fine most of the time it seems ;3).
Anyhoo, the actual episode seems fine, so I don't think a v2 will be coming - I hope you understand and enjoy the show nevertheless :)

Yeah, I found it was doing this, too, and I was checking to make sure my download wasn't corrupted.  Making a long story short, I don't care; the episode plays fine, and these are the same ops and eds as in the other episodes.  I was just concerned my download was messed up.  So I checked the comments.  Also, I like the font.  Really.  Other than the linked chapters issue in EP 8, this is a great, excellent, flawless rip.  Thank you.

I've been experiencing some problems with the sound.. throughout the series it completely cuts out. I figured it was probably just an issue with my download so I deleted and re-downloaded it, but— alas!— the same problem. Has anyone else had this issue?

I noticed Episode 8 still has that little bug with chapters.  The earlier patch was not available anymore so I went and made one.  I do patches for a living so here's one available to you guys.  This consists remuxing a new chapter file with some adjustments to the time value (since key frames in the video were a bit off after time codes were loaded).  V2 Should play without any issues.

Extract the zip contents to the original archive and run the batch.  It will only create a new file and not effect the original file.

I have sound problems with this, the OP and ED songs sound just fine, but the middle is all loud digital pops/garbled. Video is all fine.

I'm sure its some weird codec issue, but I'm only using the latest CCCP install per Wiki, never installed any other codecs etc on that system.

Checked the hashes and nothing is corrupt.

The sound problem is because of Lav Splitter. Switching to Haali Media Splitter allows one to enjoy this video without any sound issues.

I'm sure CCCP has a configuration program that allows you to switch around the splitters easily, but if it does not, switching to Haali is still pretty simple. Open the Options window under View and go to the External Filters menu. If you have both Lav Splitters and Haali Media Splitter listed, all you have to do is click on Lav Splitter and set it to Block and click on Haali Media Splitter and set it to prefer. If only Lav Splitter is listed, just set click on Add Filter, press H, find "Haali Media Splitter", double click it, and set it to prefer and block Lav Splitter. You can always reverse this, so don't worry about fucking anything up.

There's probably an easier way to do this, but I'm not too savvy myself. Hoped it helps those with problems.
