I suppose the title should rather be spelled Shinkaitei Gunkan, probably cause 'shin' is '深いの深 (fukai no shin)' and not '新しいの新 (atarashii no shin)' i.e. 深海 (shinkai)= the deep sea, and not 新海 (shinkai)= the new sea...
深海底 軍団 (Shinkaitei Gundan) thus litterally meaning "The (military) Squadron of(at) the Bottom of the Deep Sea"
It might be 新 海底 軍団 (Shin Kaitei Gundan) ="The New (military) Squadron of(at) the Bottom of the Sea"... but this might be worth checking it up, and would imply a first '海底 軍団' (Kaitei Gundan) which would therefore not be new...
Anyway, thanks for the offer.

Ah! Time to scrap the old Ripping Gods XviD encode. Thanks for this.

Seems settled, then... 'The New Warship of the Bottom of the Sea'... why not? :-P
It just seemed strange to have *that* shin, making sens, alright, but the other kind of felt more appropriate, when dealing with sea matters...
But again, 'new' may refer either to some older anime OR, given the summary, to the fact that there was an 'old' battleship, the one sunk in the past.

Btw, as for the 'gundan' 軍団...My bad, I misread the end of the title (focused on the 'shin', you know...). Of course gunkan has to be spelled 軍艦 in such a context...

Speaking of XviD though, it'd be worthwhile to have the AniMecha XviD release to supplement this one. Honestly, I didn't care for the stylings in G_P's release, compared to the vobsubs in AM. Plus, G_P didn't include the secondary subtitle track. So AM would be useful for dub watchers, if no one else.

Mentioned it before to staff, seemed fixed, but alass...
I had offered this and another torrent just before the crash.
Requested a swap, hope that will sort it out.

w00t! This anime is major kick ass! (looking right at my DVD on the shelf)... yes yes yes I know, I -have- the DVD why would I bother with movie files right? Well, I have a home made video-on-demand system. No more fumbling with DVDs, and I can't seem to rip movies with any success. For some reason, every time I rip a full length movie, the audio and video lengths don't sync up in such a way that in the beginning everything's fine, but by the end I can be out as much as 15 seconds, so they're gradually getting out of sync as time goes on. Some recommend an audio "stretching" application, but really, I shouldn't have to demux a ripped video just to fix something where no problem should exist in the first place...well that was quite the tangent wasn't it =)

I'm in the same boat with soulmirror.  I have piles of DVDs, but my only successful rips were circa 2005 with a now-expired piece of software.  I have the A.D. Vision (now ADV Films) VHS of this (wow - does that date my collection, or what!).  Being able to download fully-functional rips makes me quite happy!
