"Objectively awful, but creatively silly enough to be a great target for heckling."

Seriously though, this is one weird OVA... ;-)

There are two other dual audio releases available: one from ILA (no go) and one from RiP, but that one appears to have some subtitle issues, though to be honest I've not (yet) been able to do a comparison due to not having it. The styled subs used here by ACX are also not the nicest thing to watch imo, but givers can't be takers...

Do I see a wolverine/terminator hybrid in there? In 1580? WTF, really?

The AniDB tag 'embarrassing lines' really makes me want to get this. Could this be a new Knights experience?

Would be nice to see some comparisons, or at least confirmation of subtitle issues? Also, what are the subtitle issues you've heard of?

Just got my hands on the RiP release, will place some comparisons soon.

I based my subtitle comment on the AniDB comments made with all the different releases (I didn't have the RiP release), by reading between the lines.
Could be the subtitle (translation) quality was what's talked about though, in that case ACX would probably have the same issues.

Edit:

ACX 1  |  RiP 1
ACX 2  |  RiP 2
ACX 3  |  RiP 3
ACX 4  |  RiP 4
ACX 5  |  RiP 5

RiP: MKV (H264), 640x480, 23.98 fps (2075 kbps), Eng + Jap 2.0 AAC (~61 kbps), SRT (has signs track)

OMG! I own this! This is probably one of the best/worst anime i had ever seen. Its so odd and bizarre and makes no sense at all. Yet its so ridiculously awesome at the same time. This is definitely something special.

Watch the dub!

Seriously, this show isn't nearly as campy(read: fun) without it. Don't kid yourself into thinking you need a more "authentic" presentation because quite frankly you'd be missing the point.

Judging from those screenshots, both encodes are rather bad. The lines look rather fucked up (anti-alias anyone?). The RiP release looked kind of squished vertically compared to ACX and ACX looks a bit bright. I should watch this to make sure, but meh :D
