I was going to ask about the ACR encode, which is half the size (and hardsubbed).

I believe the ACR encode was also based on this LD rip. Though the subtitles had been edited IIRC; I have some PM's about this, but since they're lost among the many...

You know the forum thread I'm going to refer to, right?

In the mean time...
When I was looking around for a cover graphic, I noticed that the Laser Disc cover actually shows the grain/texture of the canvass under the painting. I thought it was a pretty nifty feature for a cover graphic and all

Looks cleaner then previous versions being offered. This one should be allowed if possible.

I did a search for "justy" in the BakaBT forums and got two hits. One of the hits was for Justy Ueki Tyler. The other was for someone who mentioned it as a "worst anime seen", so Justy joins ranks with such obscure dogs as Eureka Seven, Mnemosyne, Naruto, Air, Cowboy Bebop, Elfen Lied, Kaiba, FLCL, PlanetES and Kemonozume. Woot! High-fives!
Anyhow, I'm curious about the ACR encode, so I'm downloading it. It'll take a while, as it's a slow torrent, and I won't be able to post comparisons for a while due to "life" getting in the way.
If anyone who has the ACR encode has some time, please post a couple of comparison screenshots or some subtitle phrase comparisons so we can have a look. Otherwise, I plan to do the same when I get the release and a bit of time.
I have pre-seeded the torrent. If the offer should be accepted then seeding should automatically start when the torrent is registered.

Aargh! Please pardon the double-post.
For comparison:
Hayate
Video: WMV3 640x480 23.976 fps (2159 Kbps)
Audio: Japanese MP3 44100 Hz Stereo (192 Kbps)
Subtitle: English Styled Softsub (External .srt file)
Filesize: 758 MB
ACR
Video: XviD 640x480 23.976 fps (914 Kbps)
Audio: Japanese MP3 44100 Hz Stereo (192 Kbps)
Subtitle: English Hardsub
Filesize: 358 MB
For each pair, top image is Hayate, bottom image is ACR.

Yikes! I guess this will be a triple post. I am gathering more information about this encode and adding it to the comment list. Unfortunately, I cannot edit my previous posts to add info as that is a time-limited option. Once again, I apologize.
I simultaneously played the Hayate and ACR encodes side-by-side. I thought that on average, the video quality of both encodes was about equal and even shared some of the video noise and artifacts. The subtitles of both encodes matched perfectly, word-for-word and timing, except that the ACR subtitles fixed seven typos (partially found by using a spell-checker to find typos in the Hayate .srt file).
I could easily fix the Hayate subtitles to match the ACR subtitles by spell-checking the Hayate .srt file and fixing the errors. This would no longer be an official subtitle release, but it would be more correct. I could then swap the torrent with the Hayate encode and the corrected .srt file.
Also, macros74 mentioned that someone might already have a TLC subtitle release.
On the other hand, I could swap the Hayate torrent with the ACR torrent which is half the file size and includes all of the corrections in its hardcoded subtitles.
Preference?

Here is the ACR script:

I did retime quite a few lines as well, if I remember correctly. I don't do ACR releases anymore, I mainly encode for Box Subs these days.

@Area88 - Thanks very much for the ACR script. I'm including your script in the torrent in place of the .srt file. Your work is excellent and is very much appreciated.
@macros74 - Thanks kindly for your leads, your advice, and your generosity. Yup, you were absolutely right
@Duki3003 - I did a spellcheck, but when a had a good look at Area88's subtitle script for the ACR release, there were a fair number of timing corrections as well as the typo fixes. I played the movied with the .ass file, and subtitles look well-synched. I replaced the .srt file with Area88's snazzy .ass file.

March 21st 2010 (3 years and 2 months and 30 days)Though the OCR'ed Hayate subtitles had been edited IIRC (grammatical errors, a few untranslated lines, TLC);

Never got around to offering the ACR release here.
Perhaps Area88 can give some more info, he should certainly remember it.
