Thanks! Yes, it's hard to adapt... adapt --> hard; learn html --> impossible...
Edit: I added a pic with subtitles, it's made with MPlayer, hence the different height (it scales to mod2).

This is a prime example how a newcomer's offer should look like!
And Yay! to single audio-, h264-, DVD(R2)-version of Blue Submarine No. 6!

Ah, a first upload that has a good description. A rarity that is.
Additionally, it is of one of my favorite shows
.
Though they aren't competing for a spot, how does this stack up with BluDragons? Comparison screens would be much appreciated.

Comparison screens would be much appreciated.actually they kind of are. they are both dvd rips with the singleaudio normally being replaced by the dualaudio. only if the singleaudio offers considerable advantages both are kept.
the screens are comparison shots in itself though (same frame as in the bludragon torrent).

I think you need to add related link to Range Murata Artbook Collection and Range Murata - form|code.
Edit:
Also soon to expect changes in link to the soundtrack

About video quality: the R2 DVD isn't top notch (banded gradients from production especially), but there is a clear quality gap between it and the US dvd used by BluDragon. That naturaly determines the quality of the rip itself.
1. Color balance is off in R1, the video is too dark, detail gets hidden in it, etc.
2. R1 has high level of composite artifacts, you can even see some faint dotcrawl (on blue traffic sign) in shot3, but it actually happens on yellow too, which is something I haven't seen very often. You'll see what I mean as soon as the episode title appears on the screen in the R1 rip. There is also nice rainbowing on the english ending credits...
3. R1 is more blurry.
The shots were chosen to match the dual audio rip, subjectively I had worse impression from BluDragon's video when I watched it. Sadly it seems I deleted it since.

Great rip, nice to see a ONLY Japanese version. I have a question, which font did you use for the ass/ssa sub track?

Hmm, turns out it's ScalaSans-Bold (it came with someone else's rip...).
If you mean the main script (or the screenshot). ED lyrics use "Fontana ND Cc OsF".
Edit: I updated the soundtrack link(s).

the subs completely suck. :'-( they run together, on top of each other and are incorrectly timed.see examples:

well i'm off to re-download the other version.b

Oh, bad...
I can't test right now, but I'd bet that it's a problem on your end (or to be precise, in your VLC).
I didn't see anything like this on my (proof)watching, also, it seems the rendering isn't proper (font, maybe size too). Back then I only took a short peek at MPlayer when checking, and used MPC-HC for the full watch, so it is possible that VLC got hit by some awkward glitch/bug. To my knowledge, both the subtitle track and video should be fairly standard...
That said, I would suggest trying something MPlayer-based if you are on linux/other alternative OS, or CCCP/mpc-hc in the meantime - it should play fine.
Edit: Other possible short term solution that I can think off: demuxing the subtitles out and opening them separately; or plain remuxing with mkvmerge. I have no idea what goes on in vlc though. In the past, it was sometimes tricky to play MKVs, or in case of 0.8 times, styled subtitles at all...

That is strange - I have not seen such glitches (but I used Zoom Player and KMPlayer instead of VLC).

i roll with mac osx using vlc. never ever had a problem running subtitles before. as a point of reference: my machine is capable of handling 1080p. never downloaded mplayer as it has been abandoned since 05 or 06.

Some good news though: extracting the subs and loading them separately solves the issue. Remuxing with mkvmerge also makes it work in VLC. See attachments for the subtitle files.

Odd problem I've had with this series, no matter what copy I have downloaded, there are places in the viewing where the Japanese audio will not be subtitled, the player does not matter...very frustrating. As it begins to skip the 2nd sentence in some of the latter scenes of most importance.
Thankfully, this is such a finely crafted piece of drama that I am able to guess from the emotions in the scenes. Top 10 PsyFi animes, to be honest.
SPOILER:
Zorndyke died years earlier. His bones are scattered in the crags of the Ishii River. You'll figure it on the 2nd viewing.
