I think there's a bit of confusion here.

The clip I posted is NOT "Samurai Gun" which is this torrent, but rather "Gun Samurai" which is a completely different series.

I was hoping it WAS Gundoh Musashi (Gun Samurai) because the series is so famously bad that no one bothered to sub it, but alas, it's just the rather serviceable Samurai Gun.

what you said wasn't confusing, some people just don't know how to read.

this has a pretty coherent story as far as shounen goes.  the english dub is pretty good too.  it's too bad the artwork and animation is total crap.

for some reason haali splitter won't recognize my language preference with this one so i keep having to switch it around with every episode =/

The animation is really bad. It looks like it's running at like, 5 frames per second.

At least Kurenai and Mitsu are hot.

I got this anime on DVD at a convention from a mystery bag. I'm glad I decided to download this torrent before I opened my copy. I'm not impressed, and I'm probably going to sell the DVDs the first chance I get.
After watching three episodes, the first thing I saw, as several previous commenters have stated, the animation is terrible, and the source is a bit buggy, as frames seem to slow down on occasion, or completely freeze for a few seconds while the audio continues.
I didn't like the over-the-top ninja-bullet-dodging, the anime might as well have been called "Ninja Gun," instead. Inaccuracies bother me, and I was really irritated by that one crossbow that could fire 30 bolts like a machine gun, which just never, ever happened. That said, several points in the historical setting seemed jumbled and incorrect. I'm no historian, but I'll present my case the best I can. If anyone would like to disagree, please show me why I'm wrong. My points of argument are in the spoilers bit.

Possible historical premise #1: Characters made a reference to railroad technology being recently imported, which suggests this anime takes place anywhere from 1870 to 1910.

Premise 2: This may be my weakest premise, but it's worth mentioning. Samurai, or more particularly their swords were outlawed in 1876. I did see some katanas in the anime when I took the time to jump around episodes to see what other inaccuracies there may be. There weren't many swords, though that may just be a given due to the very fact that this show is called, "Samurai Gun," but the ban on swords does not implicate that people just stopped having katanas outright. Given the existence of swords in the anime, we can assume the possibility of an even narrower time frame alongside the railroad history. I'm guessing anywhere from 1870 to 1880, but this is based on a complete guess, so I won't hold this premise as true.

Premise 3: The first semi-automatic handguns were the C-93, the C96, and the Browning M1900, all made between 1890 and 1900. However, none of the handguns I saw were one of those three. Instead, the handguns portrayed were much more modern looking. This seems contradictory to a statement made in the first episode, "That's the new type of gun, the repeater," Unless it was regarding a new model of semi-automatic handgun, but that seems unlikely to me. In other words, the overall portrayal of the semi-automatic handguns is inconsistent with the railroad time-frame.

Premise 4: There were two different machine guns within those first three episodes, one that looked very much like the Thompson, invented in 1918. The other a machine pistol, that looked like a Mac-10 (or 11), invented in 1964 (1970s). And because, plot, there was a lot more ammo in its magazines than what should be physically possible. The Thompson might make the historical cut, simply by pushing the historical time frame a little more forward than what I originally anticipated. However, the Mac is extremely unlikely, easily 30 or 40 years too far ahead.

Premise 5: That jet-pack in the second episode was ludicrous, and totally came out of nowhere. Jet-packs weren't in development until around 1950, and even then, did not look like the one that was portrayed, nor function that powerfully. I think the jet-pack was purely fictional, and existed so that the writers could have a jet-pack in their anime.

Premise 6: I saw a three-barreled gatling gun whilst jumping around episodes. Gatling guns have been around since 1865, the more correct terminology for what I saw would be a "rotary autocannon, because it was clearly engine-based, and not hand-cranked like the original gatling gun. I think the earliest design I could find on wikipedia for a 3-barrelled gatling gun was the M197, made in 1967, and remains in use today by the United States Marine Corps. I think this weapon is once of the most clearly out of place.
