Is this also line-darkened? Seems like that to me... In any case, FanRapes have more pleasant, natural, balanced (= good) look - I'd take it even though it's taken from the dvd. If there is finer detail in the BD rip, it won't overweight that imho.
Edit: I should clarify that imho Anime-FanRips DVDrip shouldn't be dumped in favour of this, that is what I meant. Their brand is kind of a quality certificate anyway...

I encoded to a lossless 720p avi then used x264 to encode to 720p and then a lanzcos4resize to encode from the avi file to 480p
The end result is that they will look relatively the same if you upscale the 480p to 720p or vice versa

On one of my screens the line-art looks very aliased. Is that true or is just one of my monitors borked. (Well, I know one of them are since the results are different on them, I'm just curious which one.

Personally I wouldn't view this as a candidate of replacement to my rip (Anime-FanRips), simply because the screenshots tell some detail has been removed. If you look at the box in the first screenshot, on the right, you see the diagonal lines being smudged. On the fourth screenshot, the eyebrow left on the screen that goes into the brown hair, appears to be damaged.
Other than that, there should always be a version at 480p where art influence is minimal, so I'd definitely say no to a replacement. And I'll hope the mods do too.

Staff decided against including the external FLAC file in the torrent, so just download it from one of the mirrors linked in the description.
