It didn't end how I thought it would:

At the same time this ending didn't wierd/gross me out nor does it stop me from enjoying the first half of the series.  To people wanting to read this I would simply say that the first four volumes and the last "five" volumes are not at all the same story or even really the same genre.  That doesn't mean they aren't both worth reading per say but if you're easily offended or view yourself as having a somewhat conservative stance on how people should live their lives you might want to skip the second half.

As for my thoughts on the ending and why it doesn't creep me out or whatever:

I don't see a problem here. I think the story is great and is actually refreshing. If you don't like how it ended, well tough.

There's something wrong if the direction of a story is dictated by the opinions of the readers and not by the creativity of the author.

And warning people to stay away from a story because of the ending is like saying don't finish reading Romeo and Juliet all the way through because the ending is bad. What is the point then?

My two cents.  :-|

Honestly I liked the ending, it's different and does not conform to the stereotype.   Kudos to the author for doing it that way.

yup, unexpectedly volume 10 had come out. however I think updating should wait until all translations are completed.

Yes, this should now be changed to an "incomplete" torrent.  When the tenth volume is complete, that should be uploaded.

The 10th volume is actually Usagi Drop: Bangaihen, an extra which was released after the series is over but was then bundled into the 1oth volume afterwards, still currently being scanlated...

Just finished reading it, continued on from where the anime left off.
Don't why some people are complaining. Its a natural conclusion, I actually was expecting it. Rather it was briefly foreshadowed earlier on.

Anyway, I enjoyed the story. Good Read.

It was a last second, desperate act to search Usagi Drop!
Of course I could have searched the author's name... that works too...

Naming prefixes aren't very clean but most of us can deal with it. My gripe is the change between jpeg and png. Stick with a file format..

There are 2 chapters scanlated in the 10th volume so far...  There is no news from the group scanlating it so I am not sure if they will still continue on it.  I have the raws for the 10th volume, they are not really HD but they are okay.  Anyone who wants to scanlate it can contact me via PM.

I was hoping the storyline for the second half of the series to take a bit of a different path.
But I did indeed see this kind of ending approaching and considering the entire storyline, I don't think it was horrible like how some people were reacting.
It was a reasonable and understandable conclusion. Also considering how the Japanese culture is and the setting of the story I would have actually been surprised if it took a different path.
I understand the people who show great disgust or hatred towards the ending, but  one must also consider the cultural difference and mindset of the people before making strong comments.

Thanks for the final completed chapters.  ^_^

And I do agree with asura8888, the ending was fine as it is, sweet and real, not forced.
