/me wishes for someone ambitious who slaps Mugen's on these :xActually, what you should be wishing for is someone who slaps Mugen's subs on this AFTER correcting them. There were a shitload of lines either mistranslated or just very poorly edited. Ironically, if you would fuse those subs with these subs, you'd get perfect subtitles.
Well isn't this convenient... I just recently finished transcribing all of Mugen's subs for use with some old wmv raws. But I'll try these out to see if they're a better raw source. And yes, I was planning on correcting Mugen's subs (as I do with any subtitles I re-release), as I did notice the many many TL errors. Most of the outright editing mistakes have been corrected during transcription, though some rewrites will still be needed.

Well... that would have been useful information to know BEFORE I bought and encoded this HKDVD...
Still.. I wonder where he's going to get DVD raws... I've been looking for those bitches for years...
It has been on my projects page for awhile...

LIES! YOU PUT IT THERE NOW!!!

The size of your cover image is much larger than allowed according to the rules
Please replace it by JPG <150 KB.

I love me some HK subs...I'll always wonder how they can translate 80% of the lines decenty, but seem to always translate the already english words or simple things such as names incorrectly. Ancient Chinese Secret perhaps...

Ironically, if you would fuse those subs with these subs, you'd get perfect subtitles. Anyway, if people want .srt for this, I've compiled some here. I ran spellcheck to eliminate the more obvious errors, but most capitalization, punctuation, and "correctly-spelled wrong word" errors are still present. I didn't take the time to do a more thorough edit since I already have the original Mugen subs typed out with errors corrected and styling, and I'll do further editing on those. I also ran a quick timing post-process to eliminate subtitle flash.
As far as sourcing goes, I may try to use the audio from these to save the time and hassle of converting the wma audio on my raws, if they sync up well enough. Unfortunately, there's more video artifacting/errors on these than the wmv raws. (Check the scene in the OP where Yuuki and Zero are fighting on the UFO.) Though I'm sure that's because of overcompression/general crappiness on the HKDVDs, and not the encode or the encoder's fault.

Still, this is one of the GOOD HKDVDs. Thez also had a 3 DVD set of all of Hell Teacher Nube. That was 50 episodes on 3 disks. 16 episodes per disk... imagine the quality for THOSE!
