These are still the original files. I haven't changed anything and it's been over a year since anybody has touched the files.

Just a couple questions regarding the subs. Do the SSA and Vobsubs both use the same R1 DVD script? If not, please explain. Also, it's my understanding that the sub delay is only present in the softsub track?

From what I've read, it should be the same script as the srt tracks were OCR'd from the VobSub track.

That is true. The included vobsub tracks don't have that delay. It's odd as they are supposed to be exactly the same.

This is what the original ripper wrote a year ago:
Yeah, I noticed the delay on the visible stuff, like like sign subtitles. They OCR'ed like that, so I thought it might just be a playback issue with my rig, and it didn't seem annoying (to me) for the speaking parts, so I thought it was best not to touch the timing. I could probably tweak it and reupload a V2, if you'd like. If all else fails, the included vobsub tracks don't seem to be affected.

I'd guess there was probably a delay set in the VobSub tracks that wasn't taken into account for the OCR'd SRT tracks.

It's based on a raising-sim game, so I'd say otaku were part of the intended audience. It is mostly kid-friendly though, and actually aired in an evening timeslot  instead of the middle of the night.

O wow! I remember watching this when it first came out years ago.  I never got to finish it cause I couldn't find the rest of the episodes.  Maybe I can finish it now.  How exciting!

Sorry I never got around to retiming the subs. It's actually been on my "to do" list since the problem was noticed, but I haven't had the time, and don't foresee having free time in the reasonable future. The styled subs are just cosmetic though (based on the vobsubs), so if anyone wants to fix them, or delete them, whatever, I don't mind.

My source said he saw compression errors when he tried to fit the series on two DVDs, so he increased the filesize 50% and put it on three. It is bigger than it needs to be, but he wanted to err on the side that wastes 2GB rather than the side that causes errors.
