Sounds like ordered chapters. does it stop right before the opening and ending?
I can't confirm if this does have OC, because my external is not plugged in, but if it is OC, use media-player classic home cinema (MPC-HC)
and get yourself haali.
Or if you wanna keep using VLC, just download the latest version and nab a copy of CCCP.

to echo Krudda, the CCCP is the best way to go for this
it is in fact the best way to go for any type of anime as VLC is not reliable for fansubs in any sense of the word. Use CCCP and the media player classic home cinema that comes with it, and you should run 99% of all fansubs with no problem.
install xy-vsfilter alongside it for extra suport

Wow, that was a long time ago. Reading through it again, t may have been a download issue, check the CRC and md5 hashsum to be sure you have the entire file.
