Comparison to Final8 where?

I do not have the final8 files. But, I can try to find them if needed.

I did put up five out of the ten screenshots in lossless png from
Final8's release since I've got those files. If there's something
wrong with them please advise and I'll re-take'em if necessary.

Well I got the F8 release and did a few comparisons.

set number 1
set number 2
subtitles and karaoke

I will add some Karaoke and subtitle ones in a little bit then post the whole lot to the forums as well to get some extra eyes to look at them.

Edit: added the subtitles and such comparison...

please reduce the background image size to under 150KB. then we are good to go.

[edit]
no idea loli. but i believe coalgirls 1080p won't be taken because of the file size, so only option would be F8.

Why is UTW's 10bit 720p a 'D'?  while this one rates a 'B'

I mean I like CoalGirls and think their stuff is usually great -- and would love to see their 1080p over their 720p anyday, but why would another 720p in 10bit be put in 'D' when this was put up -- as it was in
the 'B' slot before, I thought (at least when it was offered)...

I''m wanting to know the rational that decides which goes where?  Since right now, the process seems a bit opaque.

You've been here long enough to figure that out.

Also, take note that it is a TV rip.

I'm guessing because there is no SD release uploaded, hence being kept as low bit-rate alternative...

Oh... I guess I am not sure how much that affects quality -- I mean is it going to universally be the case
that 720p on TV will be more highly compressed than on a BR?
If so, do you happen to know what the normally difference is, as I too often pay attention to the 720/1080, but its much harder to see what the compression was used in the source it was compressed on during transport -- since i'm guessing that both formats come compressed?

And that both formats are then recompressed by the encoders/subbers?

So size alone might not tell the story -- if a group compressed a better original, it might be
smaller than another group that re-encoded a more highly compressed TV version.

Also of annoyance -- I don't know about BR, but I've seen DVD releases w/variable compression, where
one release took 1 DVD / two shows and filled the disc, while another release put 5/DVD and also filled
the disc.  It's not clear if the 1st DVD was wasting space using low compression, as it might have been 'easily compressed material', or if the 2nd set had lost detail due to overly aggressive compressing.

I wish they'd change 'D' so there's no question that it's simply demoted, but that it's being kept for some
time (forwhatever reasons)...(which I know is what 'D' means, but it's 4th in the quality sequence, and it doesn't mean 'Other'...or 'Special'...'S' might be nice too...?

Just to throw this out there.Big fan of anime but that is something about girls that actually guns, or swords,or boxes,...etc. I doesn't shouldn't fit into modern times with the possibility of mecha and scifi stuff in the market. But somehow it works. The stories are predictable but quite enjoyable.

I am 5 episodes in and i find it is progressing nicely.

@astara
i have no idea what your problem is. if you hover over the D in the box it states D is Special. also read our wiki about video grouping. everything is explained there. this is the better release and the TV one was kept in D because there is no SD alternative and this release has a rather high bitrate.

if you have nothing to add related to the series please take it to the forum or ask per private message.

This anime has a huge potential, I got pretty frustrated about how the story went :l I think they could do it better than that
if there's any season 2, I hope they will work on the story ><

Other than that, it's pretty awesome

If you had read the title, keywords, or comments you would know that this is the blueray version.  :weep: It is not like I made it difficult to find.
