Confirmed, video is actually 720x480 anamorphic 16:9, instead of 704x396.
Also frame rate is 23.976 fps. Fix it please

I realize that I gotta watch it to know for sure but:
is this good? i passed up the other version probably like 10 times just because it looks like pure sh*t, but how is it really? Anyone who can give their opinion?

Nobuo Uematsu made the soundtrack. That alone is reason enough to watch.

Not bad, but it's unfinished. It adapts only the first couple of novels, and the novel series itself is unfinished too, because its author's passed away.
