Looks badass. I've never seen Gintama in English, this should be nice.

A V2 is out, please swap the torrent

Sadly only this Gintama movie has been dubbed, the TV Series was released subtitled-only in the U.S.

I just watched this... I definitely expected it to be funnier, it was still enjoyable. The ending makes me wonder if there really will be a sequel.

Is there any possibility of getting the series in this kinda quality(i mean 1080p & dual audio)?

Nopers. Gintama is DVD only in Japan, and there is no English Dub for the TV series.

We'd like to see a comparison to VIP's HDTV release that's currently on the tracker.

Why bother when the TV series will never be dubbed?

Only reason the movie got dubbed was because it was a movie and also cuz it got a Blu-Ray release.

Well besides the fact that I originally tried to request this a long time ago, it's simply for the sake of hearing it personally. That and while the series itself may never be dubbed, it would be cool for a small taste of it.

Did Sentai renege on their offer of "Buy Gintama movie and we'll dub more Gintama."?

As far as I know, Sentai still has no plans of ever dubbing the Gintama TV series, or releasing more subtitled only DVDs.

Gintama can't be dubbed, sorry.

Most jokes are puns on Japanese words or idioms or culturally exclusive things. A dub would destroy almost all of these things.

It'd be as bad as Shinshan, or whatever, the Dub for that was entirely westernized.

We'd like to see a comparison to VIP's HDTV release that's currently on the tracker.

Because I'm thinking about encoding and releasing this movie I started gathering releases and comparing them.
Comparison of releases, BDMV and a test encode.
Most, if not all, of this movie is actually SD, so a 1080p isn't useful.
As you can see in the comparison DAE struggles to be better than the VIP HDTV encode while the source (BDMV) is way better than the HDTV one.
DAE achieves this by warpsharping and smoothing away most of the details that make the BDMV a superior source.
There is virtually no difference between the DAE 720p and 1080p, so this offer probably isn't worth keeping. (even though it's already accepted)
The other release out there is Daman, but it's kind of huge (5.19GB) and manages to lose details by adding a lot of grain and compressing it without enough bitrate to keep some of the details that were present in the BDMV.
My own test encode (~2.5GB with audio) isn't great, but it is the most detailed one in this case, comparison of the normal version with Daman may be harder because of the grain, so I sharpened and added some grain to it (could be done on playback too).
I'm probably going to do my own release with a better encode, SD encode, rumbel subs and some re-done typesetting, but I don't know when it'll be done.
