First time i've had the subtitles not show or the dual audio isn't an option.....

Something i'm missing? Show looks amazing BTW, think "Battle of the Planets" was the first anime I ever watched when I was a kid.

Both audio tracks and the english subtitles do work in SMplayer and Media Player Classic: Home Cinema, so it's something on your end possibly.  If you're using VLC, you are correct in that the subtitles do not display for some reason.

Also, please do not refer to Gatchaman as Battle of the Planets.  That show is a travesty and a gross affront to Gatchaman.

There was a reason I used the " " as when I was a child that was the show I watched. I had noticed (and know) that the series is known as Gatchaman.

Nobody but noobs use VLC. I'm using Media Player Classic and I understand that it's obvs something at my end. I'm still no further forward....

Anyone have advice as to what the problem might be?

BTW VicViper, thanks for uploading this.

Try SMplayer or Media Player Classic: Home Cinema, then.  I know the two audio streams and the subtitles work in those two media players, so I'm not sure why you're having issues.  Both programs show that there are 2 audio streams and English subtitles.

No problem, Eva Unit 01.

Thanks for the advice, here's what I found....

Have been using MPC but "in my case" no subs or dual audio track, updated MPC: Home Cinema and I now have dual audio but still no subs (??). Started using SMplayer and now everything works.

In MPC: Home Cinema, when the Gatchaman video is playing, right click and you should see a subtitles menu.  In the subtitles menu, make sure you press "Enable" and that "English(Eng)" is selected.

Glad to see you got them working in SMPlayer.  Enjoy the OVAs.

OH just one more thing about VLC. I think its a great program and I am watching the same video you are with it and I have no issues . I kinda wish i could show a screen shot of the vlc program working properly.  So by your logic if I am a noob because I use vlc and you can't get vlc to work. What would that make you? just curious

I am just happy to  see it and that's enough for me.
