Did they copy some stuff off from the movie Pacific Rim?
I've seen them use the terms Pacific Rim and Jaeger so far.

Well pacific rim describes a geographical region and Jaeger is a very common German word that means hunter.  I don't think that the movie pacific rim can really claim ownership of those words nor do I think that any other story that uses those words is copying the movie.  For instance I cant name any off hand but I'm pretty sure I've seen other anime/manga that used the word Jaeger as a the name for something, and of course most Japanese stories are set in the pacific rim :)

Considering the storyline of the movie pacific rim Im pretty sure its borrowing heavily from manga, anime, and Japanese films :)

If I remember correctly Zoids uses the term Jaeger. And I am pretty sure it predates Pacific Rim.

The story is simple... which is a breath of fresh air nowadays... too many mecha-anime that focuses on politics/backstabbing/instrumentality-projects etc.etc. ... w/c is to say, i loved this anime... a simple good guys vs. bad guys show that features badassery on both sides.

Sorry, I would not know. I haven't really kept track of this, been to busy lately for it. Hopefully somebody else can answer that question. Or you can look it up on Commie and go to their IRC.

There should probably be a Dogakobo tag here.
You know, since this is a Dogakobo series.  :-|
