Guyver (full title is Bio-Booster Armor Guyver) is only the 12 episode OVA. This is the OVA. Here is some notes from the review off of themanime.org which seems to be a pretty reliable anime reviewer site.

Notes: Based on a manga by Takaya Yoshiki. There is a previous 1986 anime feature, Guyver: Out of Control, and at least two live-action movies, including the surprisingly watchable Guyver: The Dark Hero.

Both live-action movies are american made and actually not totally horrible.

I too have been looking for this series.

On an another note, if you like the Guyver designs, check out the various image gallerys and profiles on this fan-fic site. www.warriorguyver.com probably the single best website for fanart of Guyver.

ALSO animenfo.com confirms that this IS an OVA. Sorry chibi_Kaji, but there isn't anything else.

Guyver : Out of Control is quite lousy by comparison. It's only redeeming quality is the copious amount of blood and guts (albeit poorly animated). Good stuff.
Some kids grew up with Superman, some with the Ninja Turtles. I grew up with the Guyver.
I hope it's the US Renditions dub.

Oh wow you got this rare thing. I have only ever found it on video anywhere. I'm not sure which one of the movies i have seen but it was quite good. Loved how they did the mega blaster. Good work Makunouchi.

Coolness, back in elementary I had a friend who loved this anime: I never got into it.  Later when I got into Anime I always looked back at Guyver and couldn't remember what the hell it was about...  Only that it was Anime...  (O.o)

What a pain in the ass.
For those of you who enjoyed the US Renditions version, you may want to keep your old VHS tapes handy. Manga Entertainment royally fucked this up. The OP and EDs are edited, several parts are left out (like Mizuki's stripping in the final ep) and they changed the OP and ED music too, making the dub unwatchable.

I wish US Renditions DVDs were available :(

The theme song on the English soundtrack is so different than when I/my Family rented the Guyver VHS many years back, even though the VHS we rented were english dubbed. The theme was the original japanese theme.

Also, Personally, out of the american movies .. Guyver 2 was better than Guyver 1, story connected slightly more to the comic series i've read, than the first movie, imo. Also, It had solid snake as the Guyver :O (Forget Mark Hamil .. David Hayter all the way biyoatch!)

"There is no japanese with english subtitles for episode 12"
Yes there is. The second DVD that was put out by Manga ent. has it in japanese audio and unedited.

UnitZerOne thare are only 12 episodes it was left unfinished you could probliy find the manga by looking for Viz backstock at comic shops. But Viz didn't finished the translation so you'll have import the back issues and eather need to learn japanese or look at the pretty pictures and wonder what there saying. Plus the manga was never translated by a fan group to any worth wile extent.

Does anyone know of any sites that might have the Guyver Manga?  Friend of mine has been willing to give his left nut for years now to find any sites that have it translated.  I'm of course interested in seeing it as well.
