this anime is awesome. i even got confused on megumi's situation. for me, the creator of this really made a good creative plot.

this anime is really awesome!!!Every episode is a great comedy + adventurous!!!for me, the simple and short ending doesnt affect the overall score!!! really this is one of a best out there!!! 5 star reccomended! it will be better if it got any OVA or spin off tho.....

I just watched this entire series in about 4 days.  I'd been holding off on it for some reason.  But I wish I would have watched it a long time ago!!  It was so great!  The characters are all great. They all have their own personalities, and most are almost a complete stereotype, but in a hilarious way. The voices were perfect. At first I didn't like Genzo's voice, especially when he talked all goofy. But it totally grew on me and I can't imagine it any other way. The animation isn't perfect, but the character designs are. I loved almost everyone in the show; how they looked, talked, and acted.  The story isn't a complicated one, though there are some twists towards the end. This show is more about the journey, not the destination.  

Please be sure to avoid drinking or eating while watching this show. I nearly choked to death about 6 times during the past 4 days. This show is so funny.  Not every episode was super funny, but they all had something to them. I did like every single episode; some were funny, some were happy, some had me on the edge of my seat. But they were all great.  I can't say that about most anime I've watched. But this one was just great.  One of the few other shows that I like as well as this one is XXXHolic. I'm not sure what it is, but I want to watch that show all the time. Though I'm limited myself to 2 times so far. But I'm sure I'll watch it again soon.

I'd say this is one of the anime I've watched with very good pacing as well as excellent character development. And it's hilarious!

This is a very entertaining series.  I liked it so much that I actually watched it all the way through two times!  

I always see comedy as my favorite kind of anime.
Gender bending anime is rare for me.

This is One of my favorite animation! I wish there was a sequel to it though...

Actually, I'd say it was the opposite -- A-E is/was not a speedsubbing group, they were a slow-subbing group. Go into AniDB and look at the release dates for the files. They started with ep 1 roughly a month after it aired, thus DVDs were not available. Episode 22, the last of the TV-rips, was released on 5-18-2003, and Episode 23 (1st DVD ep) was released on 5-29-2003. Note the year: the series finished airing in March 2003, and at some point during those 11 days A-E realized, "Hey, we're this far behind, we may as well switch to DVDs." And they didn't even finish until April 2005, just before this torrent was originally uploaded.

So for the most part, they were using the best quality sources they were able to get, although one would assume DVDs were theoretically available sooner. And it's a shame that they didn't go back and release DVD-rips for eps 1-22, since Cheeky Angel was made in 16:9, but cropped down to 4:3 for its TV broadcast. So you do miss some of the image in the TV-rips. DVD raws are available on Nyaa, and they do look and sound considerably better than the TV-rips, despite being encoded in DivX5. Unfortunately, they are only 704x396, meaning you get more image but fewer pixels and slightly lower resolution. My guess is that the DVDs were letterboxed, meaning that you can't get 480p without upscaling at the encoder level.

So it would be quite possible, albeit incredibly difficult and time-consuming, to transcribe A-E's subs, retime them for the DVD raws (the TV rips have sponsor messages that need to be timeshifted away), and release. I"m going to try and request the scripts from A-E staff, if I can find any of them. Otherwise, I'm going to need some help on transcribing and retiming. Luckily, A-E's translations are good enough that they won't need too much fixing, although I have spotted a few things, like "It wasn't my fault" in ep 01 that should've been "it was self-defense." So if anybody does want to help create a completely 16:9, softsubbed version of A Cheeky Angel, message me.

Wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this at first but that uncertainty quickly passed. This series was in my opinion hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable.

Not enough fighting in this one. The main characters becomes way too whimpy.

I have to say, the font used for the subtitles is crap. It's tiny, but worse than that, it's "fancy" and difficult to read. I wish subbers wouldn't use such fonts except perhaps sporadically when the scene/line fit them. ;
