The "something missing", as perviously stated, was the original voice actors.

DigiMatt, install CCCP. Then you won't have any problems playing any kind of file. http://cccp-project.net
Make sure you uninstall any other codec packs you might have, they will cause problems if you have them when you install CCCP. If you are not sure if you have other codec packs installed or not, download the CCCP insurgent (CCCPi), it'll tell you if you do or not.

I saw this on TV and thought it didn't really go with the rest of the pokemon storyline (Ash & Pikachu)... But then I felt the same way about several of the movies too... Oh well, it's still pokemon
