I'd recommend getting his Piano Stories and Collection of Music [type in Joe Hisaishi @ torrentspy.com] :)

Thanks for uploading.

@Orruman:
Your kiddin' right, Hisaishi is a great composer, but if you compare his work to composers of the Baroque age (e.g. Bach, Telemann), the Romantic age (e.g. Chopin, Mendelssohn, Beethoven) or 20th century composers (e.g. Bart

@ Jaap:
Dude, no way.  Sure Beethoven, Bach, and Tchaichovsky were really great composers of their time, but some of their stuff, like Hisaishi (or any other composer for that matter), are just plain boring.  Like, there are parts of Beethoven's pieces that totally rock and some that put me to sleep (and are put to good use when I can't sleep ^_^).  However, most of Hisaishi's work is beautiful and to gets the point instead of dragging on for 20 minutes.

Anyhow, that's MY take on it...

The torrent has been swapped with lossless versions of Works I & III, higher bitrate of Works II and an addition of several relevant albums, mostly in lossless encoding.

The album 'Symphonic Best Collection' unfortunately has static noises. E.g. first track at the beginning, second in the middle. Just FYI.
EDIT: Opened the album in audacity and it seems the recording level is too high, all tracks are clipped (I hope my English makes sense)

Yes, it does make sense, and yes, I know. Many of the files in almost all encodes from chia5152 (and he has done a complete Joe Hisaishi collection) have this problem. I only included two albums from him in this torrent, because there were no alternatives...

Ah, I noticed only in this because I didn't download 'Shoot the Violist' which I already have (most probably the same version as in this torrent, since the recording level is also very high). Unfortunate, since 'Symphonic Best Collection' has a very nice version of 'Tani Eno Michi', but not life-threating. Here are some nice vids fo you to enjoy:
Nausicaa
My Neighbour Totoro - Sanpo
My Neighbor Totoro / 久石譲 となりのトトロ
Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea
Princess Mononoke
Kiki's Delivery Service (Majono Takkyubin)
Spirited Away - Name of Life
Princess Mononoke - Ashitaka and San
Howl's Moving Castle - Symphonic Variation "Merry Go Round"
Howl's Moving Castle - Cave of Mind
Spirited Away - Futatabi (Again)

I'm a bit picky about how my music is tagged, so here are a few things I changed:
1) Album titles like "Joe.Hisaishi.-.[Piano.Stories].(APE)" are a no-no.  That becomes "Piano Stories I" instead.
2) Even if you want the encoding tagged onto the end of the album for some reason, they're not in APE any more.

Of course, if you change the tags, post the changes here so we don't have to redownload the files.

I wasn't aware that they were tagged. Never used tags, so never payed much attention to them. The APEs were unpacked into WAV and then converted from WAV into FLAC using the FrontEnd. As said, didn't know that the tags were there, much less that they stayed on during the APE->WAV->FLAC conversion process....

Drat!!! Didn't notice the "Add tags" checkmark on the FrontEnd. It seems it put the then name of the directory into the album field. Damn, damn, damn! If I were to fix this, that would mean an almost complete swap of 2GB.... On the other hand,if I were to strip the gas, only the last few KB of the file would change...

If you list the changes that you make, then we'll be able to just make those changes on our files, so you won't have to reupload all of those files.  It'll still take a while to create a new torrent, though.

I copy music files from my fileserver to my personal computer, then retag things to my preferences, so I'm not really that concerned about the state of these files.

Yeah, complete clean tags are nice, but we can't always expect to get them, it is an awful lot of work to do them and everyone has his own preferences anyway. But since you can export your tags in a text file with kid3 for example, we could offer such files separately on the forums maybe?

I have now swapped the torrent. "Symphonic Best Selection" is now in FLAC - signorRossi enjoy! :)
I have also edited tags in the offending FLAC files - there I set the album name = current directory name. I think this should not pose too much of a problem for people to continue seeding - only the last megabyte of each file will have to be redownloaded.
