Jarudin: I also can't remember ever seeing a Japanese participate in la Tour de France.
Admittedly there certainly isnt't a history of Japanese nationals participating in the Tour de France (apparently there has been only two; http://tiny.cc/cUits ), but I like the series because it focuses on a unique sports theme and I'm an avid biker myself.

I was reading the manga of this and I gotta say, I really enjoyed the 3 chapters I've read. Still, I'll wait for Mendoi's releases since I don't like switching groups.

@DesoNoto: Considering Mendoi is only up to episode 10 and they haven't released an episode in over four months, you will be waiting a long time.

@Philistine:
I probably will, but I'm not in an rush to watch this show since I have tons of others I can watch. Also, I'm pretty sure they won't drop it from hearing on the Menclave website.

sounds corny indeed. but when a pretty girl you like talks to you and introduces you to bicycling? any otaku would do anything.

Cool, another sports series
. Gotta check it out tho I guess there isn't that much actual 'sports' (hard to imagine with bicycling at least).

So.....exactly HOW MUCH of this anime is about sports? Does it have anything else going for it? A love story, perhaps? Some comdey? It can't be ALL sport

How are toki?
As for bicycle stories, they have potential. I watched the
movie 'Nasu: Andalusia no Natsu' and I thought it was good.
(actually, you can probably make an interesting/entertaining
anime about more or less anything if the storywriter is good)

@Frendh
You're right that if there is a good story writer it can make an anime so much more interesting and entertaining. I mean, I never thought cart racing animes (Capeta specifically) could be so enjoyable. There were some parts where I was at the edge of my seat dieing to see what would happen next.

Ive watched about half it, and I decided to wait till Toki finished their release, but IMO its more of a love comedy/school comedy, but it has very sports focused moments. And as someone raised by bikers and is a regular mountain biker its kinda nice to some someone of your own breed in a tv show ^^

I watched the first episode and I'm a bit dissapointed at the subbing quality. The font is 'plain' and there are quite a few spelling mistakes.
As for the anime, I think they're 'pushing it', it borders on being silly but not totally unbearable.

@Jarudin
Do spelling and fonth really have anything to do with the quality of the sub? There's nothing wrong with the sub/translation and i'm perfectly fine with plain fonts compared to not readable fonts used by a lot other groups. I wish all groups would just do it this way!
If you want to blame Toki just for some wrong spelling, just offer next time to make a better QC yourself. That is is you can do it better.
Even the xvid encodes are pretty good. The other group still doing this show just recoded all the divx raws into h264 and this makes absolutely no sense IMO (as long the source was not a HQ version as well) + makes it impossible to watch the show for a lot people.
The show itself is not really that great but still worth to watch for fans of sports anime.

Is that a joke? Of course spelling and font have to do with the quality of a sub. Not as much as the actual translation and grammar, but it definitely detracts from the overall quality of the sub.
I've seen much worse, but this is not a good or even above average quality sub, merely average.
And quit with the "if you don't like it, do it yourself" defense. We get it already, this is a free fansub...they aren't paid to do this...yadda...yadda. It gets old. He was just making an observation for those of us who may be picky about what we watch so that we don't waste our time downloading a 26 episode series if we don't like it. Quit being so defensive. He wasn't "blaming" anyone. Some groups have higher standards than others, while others do it for fun and for the community. There is nothing wrong with either of them, and there is nothing wrong with pointing out deficiencies when commenting on the overall quality of the work.
For the record, I'm downloading it. I like sports anime. Spelling and font issues don't bother me that much as long as the translation is tight and the grammar is correct.
Thanks to Toki for releasing the series. Keep doing what you do.
