I got to comment... The video quality of Menclave is horrible, you can even see that from the middle screen shot and from the double offer from Arveene... I couldn't even sit through the first ep it made my head hurt that much it wasn't funny... I am going to wait for THORA to finish as their release is so much better...

The quality is bad from all sources. Chihiro's is the same way. The THORA rips are much better in quality, but for the best SD release Menclave is it.

I might suggest using screenshots from the first episode only really, but I don't think there's too much spoilerific. Maybe the 3rd screenshot in a way..

I guess, but I don't even know if you could class it as watchable - I know I couldn't watch it... Not sure what the XviD looks like though ?

Xvid is just as bad. it's the raws/sources themselves that are bad, I think. I'll double check tomorrow to be sure.

Don't know about the complaints on vid quality.
Please, everyone, do not forget that a good story in SD (or even in LOW def., at that ! ) is way better than a poor story in HD (plus HD files are so huge that just watching them requires a fast cpu (not to say big hard drives and loads of DVDs as well, just to save before watching)... or, as it sometimes happen, to watch them in a quarter, of even an eighth-screen-sized windows (even with vlc or good codecs and other players) therefore lower quality (and this time, although not extra good is not *that* bad, after all), lower definition is easiest to wiew, given it's not really awfully ugly pix, grainy like TV reception in a snowstorm :'-(   )
I like watching animes in full screen mode, that is!  

As a conclusion, for this anime, that's definitely good,  I hope it'll get approved, even though vid might be a bit on the lower scale of quality.

This might get accepted as SD. But really, the vid quality is not quite good. But until Thora releases the Bluray rip, this wins on the translation side by miles. Also Thora is using Menclave's translation for their rips of Ef- a tale of melodies.

I've tried to watch an episode, but it was painful. I'll wait some more, until Thora finishes the show. If you really want it now, you can grab it from quite a few places. But I'll hold until Thora's version is out. That's such a shame that the raw quality was subpar. Reminded me of the old VHS rips:(

While I'm all for supporting and using Box, at this stage of a series (when it just finished getting completed), there are plenty of other places you can get it.  Menclave themselves, for example, has a batch torrent for this.

Anyway, will help seed here.

Is there no BR HD rips for the first one? Need to see that first before this

memories was released as a BD boxset, and there does seem to be BDRip releases (go search on Tokyo Tosho).  No idea on the quality of them, but the Mencla...er, Conclave-Mendoi, releases were quite good in quality despite not being HD.

^Thanks, went and checked and the 1080p are very small... some around 170MB. That just can't be right...

Don't see why everyone is complaining about the Quality, it looks just like every other SD anime I have seen, I guess people are so use to HD anime releases now they forget that SD is just that.

Quality is good for SD, and of course the quality of the subtitles is the key for me.

Menclave always releases great quality releases and as usual it shows.

Chihiro's might be considered worse than this? The quality of Chihiro's release did not concern me in the least.

I was more focused on the show itself. It gets 5 stars from me. By far one of the best show's I've ever seen. The story telling is simply amazing. It's hard to find a really smart show like this.

Of course the HD source is going to be much better, but personally i'd rather buy that than download it for free.

Considering that I absolutely loved the first season, I'm quite confident that this one will not disappoint me. I already had Chihiro's version on my Hard drive, but I will replace it for this one since it appears to have better video quality.
