Alright Baka! Here's to yet ANOTHER Code Geass offer! This one falls under the 720p dual audio category, and I think that it gives THORA's encode a run for its money. Comparison screenshots up very very soon.

Thora Screens:
Thora 1
Thora 2
Thora 3
Thora 4
Thora 5

Advantages over Thora:
- Same File Size ( Both Episode 1's for example are 179 mb(OZC) and 180 mb (Thora) )
- Dual Audio
- Official Commentary
- OZC's includes the OP / ED and Karaoke. Thora's removes all of the OP's and ED's
- Includes the Final Geass R2 Preview that Bandai added.

Disadvantages:
- Look at the screenshots, and you decide whether you notice much of anything different. OZC's and Thora's were based from the same raw I believe. Only factor is the issue of compression.

The background was something I cut together and compressed. My very first project using GIMP. Tell me what you think of it.

Cool another HD Code Geass release and this time it is in 720p flavor with dual audio sprinkles, I am hungry I want cake.
Edit: I like 720p releases the best because they are very high quality (my TV/monitor is only 720p) and they are easier/faster to convert to my Zune than 1080p and they are not as big.
Also "The people of Japan were stripped of their rights to self-govern, and their pride—stolen. " could you reword that is sounds weird or atleast take away the the line it looks weird.

If Thora's isn't dual audio you shouldn't have to compare them, correct?

True, the point is that this is going to get granted because it is dual audio. But I wanted to cover all the bases. I know at least one person was bound to ask "how does this compare to Thora's" , and I know one person in particular whom OZC and I are sure won't be happy in seeing this. Thus, the comparison is there if anyone wants it, and the mods can decide whether they want to keep both torrents around or scrap the THORA one.

Hmmm, well I fixed the grammer error anyway. I pretty much left the rest though. Tis a pretty important line.

Ah but you are wrong because as Thora is the standard of all HD anime he is trying to be on level or surpass them so by that means surpass the standards making his goal to be better than the best or something like that
Edit: Damn Xtra beat me to the submit button

Semi-Granted and I haven't even had a chance to put up keywords ...

And here I was thinking there was gonna be a heated debate about whether this encode was useless or not. Metro thinks it is.

You are a distro and your group has top notch releases, do you think Thora has trouble getting accepted? Then neither should you.

I'll pass that along to OZC. I have no doubt it will warm his heart.  :-)

But is it better than THORA's? That is the question I made this offer to answer. Aside from the dual audio and commentary that is...

After looking at the screens side by side Thora is slightly more detailed and the lines seem to be harder and sharper in Thora, but hey if those robots are moving at light speed like they are then how the hell can you tell the difference.

No. THORA doesn't use raws.

i have nothing against this dual audio release, just a plea to the staff not to replace the thora release blindly as imo a HD release with fansub subtitles is a worthwhile addition in the then sea of official translations (dvd, 720p, 1080p).

This dual-audio, keep both.

Personally, I agree that keeping the THORA one is a good idea. I mean, using my Gundam Wing release as an example, the EG single audio version as kept even with my dual audio version up, so I see no reason this should be any different. No sense in people wasting space if they don't care about the dub.

Also, Xtras, I would suggest adding a nod to EZ8 for the re-encode somewhere in the info section. I'd also rename the files to mark them all as final, but that's my personal preference. For seeding purposes I suppose it would be better to leave them as-is.

Sorry, I mean to say source. THORA encoded from the 1080p box set and downscaled that to 720 correct? And yes I did notice that their was a little sharper, since OZC's is compressed twice.

I didn't entirely mean for this to replace THORA's either. See, what I meant is, which one will people prefer? I wanted to compare the number of downloads this gets, to however many THORA's gets after the initial surge of downloads. The comparisons and things are just for the use and convenience of the leechers.

A notable difference would be that this release - I guess - uses official subs from the R1 DVDs while THORA's uses gg fansubs.

» Xtras
- OZC's includes the OP / ED and Karaoke. Thora's removes all of the OP's and ED's

This is not true. THORA's uses ordered chapters to link in the OPs/EDs.

THORA's encode looks considerably cleaner in some places, note for example Suzaku's hair in the fourth screenshot. It's also a bit sharper.

Ah that's why. I only downloaded Ep1 ...

Hmmm, I never noticed how useful ordered chapters were... unfortunately they only work with Haali right?

No. They also work very well with recent mplayer builds, and even vlc has rudimentary support (though half-broken as usual - linear playback is fine, but seeking gets messed up).

Yeah, I agree ordered chapters are very useful, but I'm selfish because they don't work with Windows Media Center (oddly, since I use Haali for the splitter anyway), so I don't use them since that's where I have my files stored after I finish them.

If I found out that Windows Media Center in Windows 7 DID work with them, I'd be more inclined to change to using them.

We won't rush the decision, for now it stays...
