I read it all. My only question is this:
Is this movie only capable of 720p or does the source allow for a 1080p version?

Is this movie only capable of 720p or does the source allow for a 1080p version?Being a progressive source probably helps to argument for having a 1080p.
Here's a couple of screenshots from the source:

Imo, a 1080p would be worth it.

Uh oh, the Death Note movie. Purist and those picky on acting and direction should be prepared...
Thanks anyway!

Uh oh, the Death Note movie. Purist and those picky on acting and direction should be prepared...I don't have a comment for how well the director did it.
I do however think that Fujiwara could've done a much better job at portraying Light. Light changes in the anime and in the manga as he uses the Death Note more and more.
But such change is nowhere to be seen in the live action. That's something I thought about as I worked on this.

I totally agree with you. I expected much from the "Battle Royale" actor, but he simply can't carry the movie. L is without any depth, too.
My comment on the direction concerns bad lighting and many very static looking scenes. I think you have to add some dynamism to a story relying on dialogue as much as "Death Note".

Sorry if this is frowned upon but I was greatly annoyed by all the erroneous quotation marks where apostrophes should have been, so I fixed the ones I saw and you can get the .srt here: http://pastebin.com/9j0jS67x
Things like ' don"t ', ' you"re ', ' we"ve ', ' god"s ' etc.
Otherwise, it was great. He doesn't show as much of an outward public change as much as I'd like, but Which isn't unlike the qualities of the anime..

I managed to find a way to correct this in Last Name. Replacing " with ' seemed to do the trick. Did you check the entire script?

I love how Soichiro Yagami is played by the guy who was the chairman from Iron Chef Japan. He's actually better in this than the louse playing L. I never saw that coming. Still, maybe part 2 is better.

I read that 1080P would be a good idea in your opinion? Is it on another tracker or have you not made it yet?

This is single audio, if the description does not mention what audio, it is to be assumed as Japanese.

September 6th 2010 (2 years and 8 months and 14 days)I used tsMuxer to extract the subs and the audio. The audio couldn't be extracted individually so I had to go into manually and cut the audio a bit. Sync is fine though. I then used SupRip to OCR the .sup I had. I am fairly confident that most (if not all) errors are gone. You MAY run into a letter that is bigger than the rest. If so I am sorry, I just finished manually looking through the subs.
Also, you can't use Aegisub with the srt track. It gives some weird message that I couldn't locate the problem of. You can however style them using DirectVobSub.
Oh, related thread here. First time I actually managed to finish a project within reasonable time.
And at the end, I used CRF19 for the blu-ray. I don't think it's worth another encode, to be honest. File size is reasonable and video quality is great. Though I can probably thank the source for that.
An OCR-job of Mishicorp-SARS' release would be epic, and I would be more than glad to include it. I tried some OCR today, but man I suck at it. I decided to just use the English subs which came with the Blu-Ray. Spent about one hour and that was it.
I wonder if there's anyone who went and actually read all my blabber?
