To replace this: http://bakabt.me/162530-ao-no-exorcist-blue-exorcist-720p-hatsuyuki-hadena.html

Comparisons to tlacatlc6 in a bit. Might be a few hours.

waht ... U R not offer teh 1080 ..?!

Quality would seem to be slam-dunk over [Hatsuyuki-Hadena], so no argue over that.  I would be curious if anyone can offer comments about the sub quality, esp. translation effort.  Need to decide if I will delete [Hatsuyuki-Hadena] in favor of [Coalgirls] or try to retain it in archive for the sub effort.  Gawdz... looking in my directory, still also have a copy of [gg], and none of these are light on the storage space.  :-/

I wonder if the 1080p version has any significant graphical advantage over the 720p. It will be hell to download a 66 Gb torrent on my 512 kbps connection if it turns out so but still I'll wait out on the downloading until that part is clear.

You could always rip the ass subtitles out of them and play them externally, I haven't seen this show so I don't know how important signs or other such things are, can't rip those out.

That won't get accepted here, nor will the 77gig Gosick, these stupid sizes cannot be justified

Should give [Tenshi] his own tag, instead of been [Coalgirls] =p.

Grabbed this off Nyaa and ... holy wow, that is a sweet encode!    Video is rich and I'm trying very hard to find flaws in it that I do not think are there.

But, here is the thing:  I'm playing this on a WinXP system installed on an old P4 running at 3.4 GHz.  Y'know, one of those single core CPUs that uses hyperthreading to create a second "virtual core."  I'm using the http://haruhichan.com/wpblog/?p=205 MPC + madVR/LAV for playback and it generally is running at under 70% CPU usage and ~600 total MB of system RAM (~180 MB of which was in use before MPC got fired up).  That is just simply amazing.

This torrent sets a standard for just what the potential for properly done 10-bit can achieve, as far as top quality & playback on adequate hardware goes.  Yah, it doesn't need FLAC, but I can live with that.  Waiting for approval so I can jump in the seed pool ...

Thanks very much for the offer!

The tag does exist, as seen on the 79.5 GB Dantalian no Shoka BD-lossless remux release. Though it's not considered a separate group in AniDB.

As usual, people complained about gg's subs being liberal/over-localized/trolling, though I don't know how much they were modified or de-trolled for this release.

is it just me or is there no difference between the two of them, apart from the FLAC of course
For the vast majority of normal humans, there's not going to be any audible difference between 2.0 FLAC and 320 kbps AAC anyway.

tlacatlc6
1280x720 16:9 23.976 fps H264/AVC (1610 kBit/s)
Japanese 2.0 Stereo AAC (319 kBit/s)
English soft styled subs (ASS/SSA)

CoalGirls
1280x720 16:9 23.976 fps H264/AVC (2658 kBit/s)
Japanese 2.0 Stereo FLAC (1449 kBit/s)
English soft styled subs (ASS/SSA)

tlacatlc6
1     2     3     4     5     6     7
Coalgirls
1     2     3     4     5     6     7

No doubt that the extra birate in CG really helps in scenes. Subtitles are from the same source so not much difference there. There's more space in CG's version to read the subs, while tlacatlc6 has them hugging the bottom.

More like a week instead of a few hours. Sorry, been sick since Wednesday.

Coalgirls does look better, you got to look really close (at least i do), whether you can notice during playback from a distance on your bed say...is another matter. I doubt it.

There's a slight difference, but screenshots are different from actual moving scenes.

Aren't we all forgetting that Tenshi's work is 8-bit, while tlacatlc6 is  10-bit. Surely this must have influenced the total quality(considering that 10-bit has less dithering)

less banding you mean, but Tenshi's encodes are so bitrate overkill the banding might as well not even be there.  Have you seen his Rinne no Lagrange episode 1-2, 4GB an episode...

Wrong. tlacatlc6 also encodes in 8-bit.

Everyone sure loves to argue about the technical qualities of the files, but nobody ever bothers to say if these shows are actually any good or not.   :-/
