According to this page, the production company is Central Motion Picture Corporation. Since that's the official name given on the company's website, that's how I'd credit them, but this company also sometimes seems to be called Central Pictures Corporation and Central Motion Pictures Corporation.

Also, is including the Cantonese dub track significant enough to accept a remux in this case? Mandarin is the original production language, and we're an English-language anime and manga community, so I'm not sure that it's necessary.

Almost half of China will probably say "Yes!" :).

I don't think that's actually the case. Recent figures I've seen for Cantonese speakers in China range from 55 to 66 million, and that's out of a population of 1.383 billion, so it's definitely nowhere near half of China. It's closer to something like 5%. And anyways, like I said, we're an English-language community, so I don't see why a remux should be accepted here. I'm not actually against it, but I don't think most of the users in our community will care about having an additional dub track in a language that they probably don't understand anyways.

Taking into account the rarity of Kamigami release and that additional soundtrack is only 65 MB, I don't see a problem here.
IMHO, significantly more important in this case is a subpar quality of the video.

The key word here is "forcing".

Well, it doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. I just don't see any particular benefit to it and thought remuxes were only supposed to be accepted if they added a significant advantage over the original release(s), which I don't think is the case when you consider the audience this tracker targets.

Anyways, I agree that it'd be better if we could just get a new encode. Any takers? :-D macros74? ;-)
There's a seeded DVD9 on ADC with Mandarin, Cantonese, and English audio tracks and English and Chinese VobSubs. And AnimeBytes has a seeded DVD5 (via U2) with the original Mandarin audio and Chinese and English VobSubs.

I linked to the article that you're referring to just to provide relevant statistics and counter your inaccurate claim. I don't agree with linguistic genocide or countries like China and Singapore deliberately trying to wipe out Cantonese, but it's irrelevant with regards to our particular community. We're an English-language community where most of our membership wants to watch either in the original production language (sub watchers) or dubbed into English (dub watchers),* or sometimes in both. This remux was created for a Chinese-language community, where the inclusion of an additional Chinese-language dub track -- that is, the Cantonese one -- is beneficial and desirable for a significant amount of their user base. The same isn't true here on BakaBT, since we're not primarily a Chinese-language community.

*I realize that, for a few titles on here, English was the original production language.

Actually, I might consider that.

Thanks! I'll seed the DVD9 on ADC for you from my seedbox.

I wonder...
The original Kamigami audio track, matching it by ear to the same DVD audio track, there it's labeled as 5.1 Cantonese?

I can confirm the original Kamigami audio track is in Mandarin.  Don't have the DVD though.  Probably it's wrongly labeled?

IIRC, it's a glitch of MKVMerge.

Where did you get "Hu die meng" from? The title is Liang Shan Po yu Zhu Ying Tai
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0446958/
Hu die meng is unrelated
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093944/

I also cannot seem to find the DVD9 you mentioned. All I found was the OST: id=39825

Nah, Liang Shanbo yu Zhu Yingtai is actually the subtitle of this particular animated film, although it's also actually the title of the original legend upon which this movie is based. The original Chinese title is 蝴蝶夢-梁山伯與祝英台, where that dash character (-) sets off what follows it as a subtitle. This is kind of like how tildes are used in Japanese titles.

English Wikipedia, Chinese Wikipedia, the Hong Kong Movie Database, and AniDB all corroborate this.

But maybe it *would* be better to write it as Hudie Meng instead of Hu Die Meng? 'Cause 蝴蝶 (húdié;) is a compound meaning "butterfly." And AniDB has just updated their romanized title entry to reflect this too.

Hmm, well what were you searching for? I found it just by searching for "Butterfly Lovers". ;p But anyways, it's id=41926, but I'm not seeding it anymore I'm afraid.

Edit: Also, that OST that you found isn't for this movie. It's for this Chinese TV series, which was also based on the same original legend.

Thanks for the explanation. I understood everything already, except that hudie was a comouond word. I knew about the OST being to the TV series.

As to what I searched for, I tried 'hu die ming", "butterfly lover" (yes, I left off the s), and the IMDB number, with the "search descriptions" option enabled, but thats unrelated to BBT.
Before anyone mistakes my intentions, I do not want the DVD.

Maybe the reason that IMDb gives the title without "Hudie Meng" is because it doesn't show up in the movie itself: https://a.pomf.cat/ewtssm.png
But it shows up on the DVD cover, like you see on AniDB.
