Why not?

Seems doujinshi, no additional references/info?

It seems to me like an official MtG promo, considering the last pages with card ads and there's "© Wizards" on the cover.

And while MAL isn't the best source, they too don't allow non-official doujinshi in database.

Here's the official press release (in Japanese). Like Abystom said, it's an official publication by MtG/Wizards of the Coast.
However, it was only ever published online, i.e. as a webcomic.

If this had some form of continuity with a physically published work (being a sequel, extra or similar) then we might have made an exception.

"exception"?
According to what Morellet posted, there's no need for an exception - its been published.
So its web only. Big deal, several anime are web only too. We don't reject those.

This doujin rule is in serious need of review.

If this had appeared in print, i.e., being able to buy a physical copy released by a publisher, then we could have accepted it.
For now the rule will stay as is.

Not trying to disturb the hornets nest, but please update the wiki to reflect that as currently it does not mention works (including official works) must be physically tangible.

Fan-made material (including doujinshi, artbooks and manga) are NOT allowed to be uploaded. Only published works are acceptable on BBT. The only exception to this rule is original non-parody doujinshi created by published mangakas.

This has thrown four monkey wrenches in some plans I had.

Well, it apparently had a physical release. Weird, isn't it?

...so this could still be accepted?

I took a quick look at this page. Basically, it's describing a Casual Play Event called "Gamers' Lounge #58" that was held at an Internet cafe called "Wip Yoyogi Kitaguchi Ekimae-ten" where people could bring in their own games and whatnot. That page just talks about how this manga was also brought in, but it doesn't say anything about it having been officially physically published, plus it links back to the press release that I linked to about this manga having been published online for free. And the official page from Wizards of the Coast only talks about it having been published online. So it's not really clear where this physical version of the manga came from, just that it *was* brought in for this event.

Maybe an exception should still be granted though in this case. This manga was officially produced and distributed by a well-known company, so maybe that should be enough for it to be accepted. It seems different to me than an independent/amateur mangaka releasing doujinshi at Comiket or online, since this had commercial backing and was intended to reach a fairly wide audience. I'd support it being accepted on here -- it being produced by Wizards of the Coast makes it seem noteworthy enough to me.

Edit: Plus it's by a pro mangaka.

By the way folks, with the advent of folks like Amazon doing publications on their own (creating anime that never sees the light of network broadcast, and now publishing ANYTHING in both ebooks and hard print (see KDP - Kindle Direct Publishing), the rules will probably require tweaking even further.
