Berserk [Scans]

My first and hopefully best manga upload. I know this is gonna need a lot of work.
Basically, this torrent is meant to replace the current torrent which is not being taken care of properly regardless of the requests (last updated 2009). Mine includes many higher quality volumes.

The following are examples of the new file name patterns:

- [Hawks] was moved to the end of the volume names instead of beginning for better viewing.
- Individual files names across all volumes by hawks were slightly modified for consistency. berserk - v18c01p001 copy.jpg -> Berserk_v18c01p001.jpg. This also removes the word "copy" which was a bit annoying and meaningless in the previous torrent.
-  In some instances (vol12 of the other torrent) filenames were simply 03 copy.jpg, 4 copy.jpg, etc but in this torrent the issue has been dealt with.

The other torrent is a real mess especially with the issue of separate chapter folders and their namings. For some reason some volumes included separate chapter folders and some simply didn't. There are also some missing translations/ volumes with at least a missing page. I'm sure there are other examples at the micro level which support my view. The torrent I'm offering is much more organized.

Things to be done in future swaps include:
- Include English DH cover pages (not very necessary as Japanese cover pages are included and are the same).
- Clean Berserk Prototype and include it in vol 14 since it's part of it.
- Replace some volumes with volumes from Random Scans (would require a lot of effort and time. Not gonna do it anytime soon).

Incomplete would be important. Keywords could include Fantasy, Horror, Alternate History, Nudity, Violence, Kentaru Miura, Swordplay, Dark Fantasy, Medieval,War, Monster Hunting, Magic and whatever else you find.

No. For long mangas, you can offer chapters till the end of the latest arc, and thereafter swap in newer arcs as they finish.

The size of the torrent is incomparable to the one I have. are those unedited or not cropped pages or już better quality ?

A couple of volumes are scanned from Dark Horse Comics. The previously low quality volumes 2 & 3 are replaced with DH for example.

The following comments are taken from the original uploader (ingwe137) with some amendments by me:

The scanlations were brought together from various sources, often not complete and with varying file naming schemes.
I tried to:
A) collect all the published volumes in highest overall quality (translation and graphics-wise) to the possible extent
(this does not yet contradict common sense severely, as 300Mb/vol is not very much).
B) collect everything neatly into volumes with files consistently renamed, with no unnecessary subfolders or archives within archives;
C) preserve or restore the credit pages and .nfos of the original scanlators and scanners, but place them so that they do not pop out every chapter.
I also added all the volume covers of the Japanese edition to the respective volumes,
and included other covers, color pages and artbooks as a bonus.

More comments:
Every volume 01-30 is in its archive, with no subfolders or subarchives; volumes 33-35 by E_G have subfolders for the credits and notes;
all files within the volumes are renamed for adequate sorting;

Sources and availability:
vols. 01,04-30 [Hawks] are everywhere on the internet; vol. 01 in hq and vols. 25-30 in tiffs however are relatively hard to find
(I recompressed those to pngs, lossless, as some programs that people use for reading manga do not work with tiffs);
vols. 33-34 [Evil_Genius] are everywhere; renamed and repacked everything from the official torrents;
The low quality scans of vols. 02-03 and first pages of vol 12 by the Hawks are replaced by the scans of the Dark Horse edition of Berserk:
those are scans by RS (random scans), edited by me (split, rotated, cropped, cleaned a bit; not resized);
spreads are taken from the HQ scans of Japanese MBR edition, and TL from the RS scans is inserted.

This does not ruin consistency from my point of view, as mediocre translations cannot be consistent with anything, the honorifics are not preserved in either of the translations,
and the Hawks did change the names' translation several times through the series (which is natural if you remember how long the manga is going)

Don't forget-

you think of a keyword and there is a 90% chance that Berserk has it, in some way/shape/form. the keyword list would be epic long. which is fine, if we want to be complete about it... why would we approve this when it is only adding one new Volume compared with the current Berserk offering. seems to me that a swap would make more sense

MBR is basically a new republication of volume 1 including a couple of color pages! Yes, it's also higher in quality than the hawks version. The sample pages are actually from the MBR version.
I kept the hawks version because its the older version (before MBR).

i actually just got my hands on most of the volumes done by Random Scans all of which are scanned directly from Dark Horse Comics but they still need A LOT of work (make single pages and fix margins). if anyone's interested in such work let me know.

my fault, i stand corrected. also, is there a reason why you are only using pages from the first volumes as samples pages? the art work improves greatly in vol 4 and beyond. not make or break, just curious.
